Coca-Cola to refresh 25,000 L.A. marathoners on March 21
Company will continue “Live Positively” commitment as Official Marathon Sponsor - LOS ANGELES – March 11, 2010 – The Coca-Cola Company has been known for refreshment and programs that support healthy, active communities for more than a century. On Sunday, March 21, Coca-Cola will continue both traditions, serving as an Official Sponsor of the 2010 Honda LA Marathon presented by K-Swiss. As the Official Beverage Sponsor, Coca-Cola will keep an expected 25,000 marathoners hydrated along their 26.2-mile marathon route.

BAA Announces 3-Year Financial Support for Towns on Route
BOSTON – The Boston Athletic Association (B.A.A.) has announced that it has made an unparalleled three-year financial commitment of $2.27 million to the eight cities and towns through which the Boston Marathon runs and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. It marks the first time in race history a financial commitment of this size and duration has been pledged to all of these communities, and the financial commitment is in continuing recognition of the considerable yearly support of the municipalities as the B.A.A. presents the world’s oldest and most prestigious marathon.

Lagat, Kibii Reign at Union-Tribune Race for Literacy 8K
SAN DIEGO - Kenyans Haron Lagat and Jane Kibii claimed victories at the 22nd Union-Tribune Race for Literacy 8K held on Sunday morning. Temperatures in the mid-50s and steady rain made for some very un-chamber-of-commerce-like San Diego conditions, but it did not deter the 2,110 runners and walkers who participated in the 4.97-mile event that started in historic Balboa Park and finished downtown. More than 3,500 were registered in the event.

Catalina Marathon, #1 Off-Road Marathon, on March 13
33rd edition has 23 miles of dirt trails where the buffalo roam; final leg of the American Trail Championship on beautiful Catalina Island - AVALON, Calif. - The tradition continues this weekend at the 33rd Catalina Marathon, rated the #1 Off-Road Marathon in the world. More than a thousand athletes will run 26.2 miles from Two Harbors to Avalon on Catalina Island, located 20 miles off the coast of Long Beach. The race is on Saturday, March 13th, and begins at 7:00am.

Country Music Marathon & ½ Marathon Begins New Decade in Nashville

Award winning singer, songwriter and producer, John Rich, with special guest Cowboy Troy, is set to headline the post-race concert at the Bridgestone Arena on Saturday, April 24, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. For Rich, his performance will bring him full circle as he played on the finish line stage in 2001 – the second year of the event. Heidi Newfield will open the show along with new artist Jerrod Niemann.

Rock ‘n’ Roll ½ Marathon to Debut in Dallas this Weekend
Half Marathon Rematch from San Antonio Highlights the Elite Field, Race Registration and Volunteer Opportunities Still Available - Dallas, TX – March 10, 2010 - An elite field of Texas athletes will lead approximately 13,000 registered runners at the inaugural Rock ‘n’ Roll Dallas Half Marathon, benefiting Susan G. Komen for the Cure, on Sunday, March 14. The new event, managed by the Competitor Group in partnership with the Dallas White Rock Marathon, will debut as part of the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series and has drawn entrants from 47 states and 10 countries.
