2012 MDRA Spring Marathon Training Program

MDRA Spring Marathon and Half Marathon programs kick training off on 8:30 a.m. Saturday, February 18, 2012 with an 8-10 mile run from the Edina Community Center. There will be available registration that morning beginning at 8 a.m. Be ready to run at 8:30 sharp!   Meet by the gym (which is the entrance by the track with all the steps)

 When: Tuesdays and Saturdays. There will be a registration/informational session from 7:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, Feb 16, 2012, Room 350 at the Edina Community Center. There will not be a run on the 16th, first run is on Saturday, February 18 (info above).

Where: Tuesday classes meet at the Edina Community Center for the first few sessions and later move on to other locations.
The class runs from the following locations The Lakes, Hyland, Fort Snelling, River Roads east and west, Summit along with many other great running venues.

Cost: MDRA members $100, Non-members $125 (includes a 1 year MDRA membership)
The cost of the class also includes a racing singlet.

Registration: Registration form and information and Online Registration link. Mail with payment to MDRA, 5701 Normandale Road, Edina, MN 55424. Your cancelled check is confirmation into the class.

Notes:

The class is also training for the Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon on June 16 (guaranteed entry if you sign up for the MDRA Spring Half Marathon training program.) 

Marathon and other race fees are separate from the cost to join the training class.

Class members all receive a MDRA racing singlet.

The first night of class, Thursday, February 16 is only an orientation session, there won't be a run. Class on that first night meets at 7:00 at the Edina Community Center room 350.

 

The program is for runners of all levels and abilities and geared towards training for a spring marathon. The class has four distinct training groups to serve runners of all levels and abilities. It is recommended that runners have a base of at least 20-25 miles a week before entering the class.
