TCM Weekend Recap
Long Standing Men’s Marathon Course Record Falls
TCM Weekend Recap by Candy Patrin
Sunday was a good day for running, especially for Dominic Ondoro who broke the Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon (TCM) course record of 2:10:05 that was set by Iowan Phil Coppess in 1985. In 2015, Ondoro also finished first at TCM with a time of 2:11:16.
Fans who came out to watch the marathon (which was held one week later than in past years because of the Ryder Cub golf tournament) also got to see some of the quirkiness that goes along with running 26.2 miles. For example, there was a runner who approached the finish with a Greyhound dog on a leash, a female runner with leg cramps who opted for a piggy back ride from a Good Samaritan runner and a Hillary Clinton impersonator complete with a mask and pant suit.
